Hello my name is Ryan and I live in the St. Louis area. I am new to the hobby and just set up a 24 gal nano cube salt water tank. I have a couple friends in the hobby and a neighbor who is real big in it who actually gave me quite a bit of stuff to get me started that he had laying around, so I made out with a heater, skimmer, timer and a xtra power head. I have been wanting to start a salt water tank for about 10 years, but never had the money so now that I work 50-60 hour weeks every week I am spending some of my hard earned $. I will post a few pics, but I just started it this past weekend so just rock water and sand now. Hope I can gain some knowledge from this form and thanks in advance! Looks great and welcome to the hobby. The only note I have would be you may want to move the rock out from the back wall a bit to allow some area for you to scrape off algae and such that new tanks inevitably get at different stages. Just enough room to get a mag float or other scraper behind. Just my .02. Welcome to the hobby, you're going to love it! and this forum is an awesome place for advice and reading lots of info.

Thanks! I did notice 1 aiptasia on one of my rocks on the 2nd day and I got the aiptasia x and used it right away. It disappeared and now I'm wondering if I need to worry about the possibilities of more to come? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks, I'm a little concerned that the store where I will get a lot of my fish/corals from have aiptasia in a lot of the coral display tanks. What do any of you think?

First I would inspect all frags and rock closely for aiptasia, if present I would not buy the frag or rock.

Avoid introducing aiptasia at all cost in my opinion and experience.

Look to buy on line from reputable vendors.
