New growths on rock

    I'll have to describe this, as I have no pics yet.

    Picture a funnel, cut in half, making two identical halves. Shrink them down to about 1/2". Put some very fine hair along the outer rims of the funnel halves, making them look like filter feeders. Stick them into the rocks, little end first, facing up to the light.

    They're very light grey, almost white in color.

    Sound familiar to anybody?? ;D

    Here's a pic. Not a very good one, but perhaps better than nothing.

    It's right in the middle, and I guess it's more than half a funnel, more like 2/3 of one.

    You can't really see the hair at all, it appears as just a blurry area.

    Looks like a feather duster but I could be wrong.

    yeah it's some sort of duster, beneficial, and pretty cool.

    Nope, it's definitely not a worm of any kind. It's just ABOVE the feather duster, right in the center of the pic.

    I'll try for a better photo soon.

    Not in MY tank, they don't.

    I just found my answer, and it's "scroll algae".:angry: I'll be removing it tomorrow.
