    Welcome to 3reef!
Ask many questions and do alot of reading. Research goes along way in the success or lack there of of yours or anyones aquatic life! Just go slow and don't skip steps in the tank set-up or try to add livestock before your cycle is through(except for Damsels etc. for cycling purposes).
Check out all the latest equipment and compare for savings and the RIGHT equipment for YOU and YOUR livestock. For example, you probably don't want or need Metal Halide lighting if you are doing a fish only tank.
At any rate, just dot your I's and cross your t's when it comes to getting up and running. Jot everything down as far as what you need for equipment as well as the type of tank you would like to replicate.
Most of all have fun and don't get discouraged!!!!!!!!
