Just to warn you, the stand for that light I mentioned isn't going to be as sturdy as the one I see in your pic, but if your not clumsy like me, or you have a lid, it's not a problem.

We'll i guess im the idiot, i returned one of the bulbs the other day for a different one and well i didnt get the original receipt back so i think im screwed unless they would still have it sitting in the register 4 days later, but im thinking no ha. I guess ill just go with this for awhile and see how some mushrooms do with it and try to hold off on upgrading the light for awhile, thanks for showing me that though.

Anyone know of any corals that do good in low light? As in 2.5wpg and would placing them towards the top of the tank closer to the light help?

Kenya Tree, Cabbage Leather, Xenia, Yellow Polyps, Zoas. It's a fairly shollow tank so there's alot more you can have than some would think, even some of the LPS placed higher in the tank. I started with a dual bulb T5HO before I upgraded to the MH only because i wanted to be able to have anything I wanted.;)

sooo what is the light you have? you guys do know that t5s put out more light per watt than mh? The hard thing about t5s is that you can't get higher wattage in a smaller space, but this has not been a problem for me. Personally the only reason I would go to mh is the color and I've seen just about everything I've seen under a mh under a t5 as well and doing just fine. I think you can keep quite a lot of stuff right now, you just need to think about placement. With just 2 bulbs your spread wont be very good but if you put things right under the light and have some rocks to lift things up you should be just fine. I would only worry about the expensive shrooms that have some different needs, but any of the basic ones should be good and I think you should be find with most lps. Again all this is provided you keep it all under the light. I mean I have 4 t5s and can put my brain and other lps in the shade under a overhang and their great, I have sps med high and they are doing great. Mh are way over rated.

    Welcome to 3reef.

You T5HO is enough to keep whatever you want in the tank. You will be able to keep SPS and clams as long as they are under the lights. Just add another 2 bulb fixture in the future once the tank is cycled and running smoothly.

Last night i found my first hitch hikers, pretty sure it was an emerald crab was green and about the size of a dime, maybe smaller and saw my first live bristle worm was about a half inch long.
I got some more rocks today, so i had to move things around, how do you guys like how they are set up?
