Ok, so we went and picked up a halide system( 2x400) for our 72 bowed. A couple of questions..Since the wattage is a bit high for this tank should we place the fixtures higher above the tank? If so, how high. We currently set them at about 18". Also, they were sold with 14K bulbs and we were thinking 20K. Any opinions on this one? Also, where is the best place to get a good price on HQI bulbs?
    Thanks, everyone...8)

If you go to 20K's you can have the lights lower. (The higher you go in K, the less the light output. That's why you never see 150 W radiums).

Will 20K work as well as 14K for growth and health? Also, what should 14K bulbs look like. The ones we have with the system look a bit whiteish/yellowish...Should they be more blueish? Is 20" a good height to keep the fixtures at?

14k bulbs (unless they are quite old and have color shifted or are brand new and haven't burned in yet) should look very white. I've never kept mine that high before. As long as you don't light shock your corals and let them adjust over time, you could go to 12 inches.
