new hammer coral

newest addition to my tank is this nice hammer coral which the guy i volunteer for at my local museum gave to me. it was very nice of him as hammers at my overpriced lfs go for about 80.00 on average and mine is fuller than the ones he sells. it was very shrunk up when added but today it is opened and looks nice. the bin on the bottom right is full of dozens green shrooms he also gave me

80$ would have to be my response to them. I guess I'm lucky to over look hammers at 40$.

 

yup. and those hammers typically only have two heads. mine has four. everything at my lfs is over priced. for large kenya trees he gets 100.00. i can travel one hr to another city and get he same thing for 30.00. yes my local museums reef has a huge hammer coral and my piece broke off and fell into the rock work. i just asked him if hed mind if i try my hand at it he said take it. this tank is also over run with great green and orange shrooms which he loves for me to pluck out with tongs as they get close to his sps. i must have taken a hundred home. i have them sitting in a container of rubble so i can glue them. price per tiny shroom at lfs is 10.00.

 

That's insane, there was one point that I could not give a kenya tree away around here. I don't have any right now ( I will in 2mths), but I was selling them at 3$ a frag. You should see if you can take them in for store credit I get 50% at my lfs. I start selling frags around there if I where you.
