New here and found usful info already

I am new to the aquarium world and found this site very resourceful for answering questions. There seem to be a lot of people with an abundance of knowledge in most aspects of running an aquarium. I have really ejoyed this forum already with the few posts I have made and hundreds I have read... Thanks for a great place.

One of the best things I love about this site is the urgent help section... Although I have not needed it, I thinks thats an awesome idea...

I meant to ask, I cant view any of the classified adds. I know it says I cant post an add until I make 50 posts, but does that mean I cant view the adds either? When I open the for sale forum there are no posts..

You are correct. You cannot view advertisements either. We had a choice of blocking people's ability to the view the ads or block the use of the Private Messaging system. We chose to block to view of the ads. If someone had an issue and a search revealed someone else who had similar issues, we wanted newer members to have that capability. I understand your frustration. However, there was a LOT of thought and debate that Matt and the moderators went through to arrive at our decision on how to handle this issue.

No worries and not frustrated with the classifieds as I understand need for rules and always respect them... Just wanted to make sure it wasn't on my side... However, I did find it a little odd simply from the perspective from being new to the hobby and looking for good deal on items to help start-up costs..

However, sometimes people cant understand, there are always 2 sides to every coin and a certain trade-off (pros/cons) with any rule, even if the rule is "theres no rules" (which is a rule itself)...

I personally would rather have rules, fairly enforced, to ensure the well being of the site, users and vendors. Thanks for the hard work each moderator, user, vender and onlookers provide that allows someone as new as myself an opportunity to learn and grow a hobby as great as this....

Now that I have thrown my $0.02 worth in the hat, is there any problem with me posting a link in my signature or on the forum to my live streaming webcam of my tank that runs 24 hours daily.. Its not to show off my obviously newbie tank but setup for me to monitor it, allow people with experience to see and offer suggestions/help as-well-as enjoy it wherever I am, even from my iphone... It is hosted through ustream and 100% legit.. I am also recording videos with an underwater HD camera that will be available as well...
