Hello I am new to this site and am starting to notice it is more about saltwater than freshwater. But anyway I am setting this up because I have a clown knife fish that I am wanting to get as big as can be.

This pic is just after we added the water to the tank. I have now installed a Rena XP4 canister filter. And Put the lights on now as well.. Need to get some more pictures. Along with my clown knife I will be adding 6 silver dollars, a pleco, 2 gouramis, and a giant goldfish we got from a county fair 2 years ago that keeps thriving.

I am hoping to put all the fish in this weekend and can post more pics if anyone is intersted!

Nice setup. I got a 125 freshwater...used to have a clown knife that was 14". He killed my gar and I had to get rid of him. Right now I have 19 catfish in there.
    -Striped Raphael 13"
    -Striped Raphael 8"
    -Tiger Shovelnose 8"
    -Shovelnose Lima 10"
-3 clown loaches 3-7" (not a cat but a bottom feeder)
    -Eupterus Synodontis 9"
    -Eupterus Synodontis 3"
    -Pictus 8"
    -Bullhead Catfish 3"
....and some others that I can't seem to remember. Catfish have always fascinated me. I also have a huge feeder goldfish that I could never catch that is about 6", but for some reason the catfish don't like him at all. He is so tore up I had to put him in a 10g hospital tank so he can heal. For filtration I have a RenaXP3, magnum350, odyssea 317gph canister, and an eheim. This tank is almost more work than my 72g reef because of all those filters. Good luck with your tank. I would build a canopy for it, that would bring it all together.

I agree I need a canopy on it to really make it stand out. I built the stand myself and was quite proud of it but I agree it could use a canopy. I also like the catfish as well and my wife and I have been looking for a nice one to add that won't bother anything in there. Any suggestions with all the cats that you have?

Do you have a big enough clear plastic tube for viewing your clown knife? I had one forever ago and thought it was the coolest fish, but i only got to see it a few times a week. I would try to get some big drift wood in there, that would really set it off.

Welcome to 3reef. I love my FW tanks and find they are more of a challenge than my reef tanks ever were. Planted, let me tell you is fun!
