    Here is the first piece of advice. Don't add Damsel, they are mean, they are aggresive, and they will be pain in the butt to catch once you found out you dont want him because his bulling all his tank mates.

    One common misconception among the new is "smaller is better." Surprisingly, it's the other way around. For reef tanks and FOWLR tanks too, the key to success is consistency. To maintain it, you want a larger volume of water.

    If someone spilled a martini in your tank, would you wish you had a larger, or smaller tank? Larger of course. The water chemistry we strive to keep regular is affected by evaporation; and when things go amiss (and they will!) fluctuations are only magnified by having a smaller volume of water.

    So--if you haven't bought the tank yet, consider a larger tank rather than a smaller one. You'll be glad you did.
