Well, finally got my act together and put together a dedicated iPhone app for controlling the ReefAngel controller. Got my hands on a new iMac a week ago and jumped in head first trying to figure out how to start developing for iOS.

Dingo had sent me a copy of his version awhile ago, which was a huge help to start understanding out how the basics worked. (Thanks a lot bud )

As you would expect, it's completely independent of my Client Suite so there's no computers to keep running and no Windows requirements. All that's needed is the controller + wifi adapter and an iPhone or iPod.

It works pretty well, but there's still some loose ends to tie up. I'm not really sure what I'm going to do with it yet. I would like to throw it up on the app store for a free download but it costs $ to do that. Might have to charge a few $ on the app store to recoup costs :-/

Sorry for the bad focusing, not so great sound quality and abundance of Umm's and Uhh's. I only had the camera for a short while and threw together an impromptu demo.

awesome man! really happy that you got this farther than I could :)

So I am guessing that right now it works for jailbroken only... have you talked to Roberto about the store yet? Honestly I dont think our market is large enough to re-coop all the cost yet

    Thanks, Trent.

My experience with the other .NET application helped a lot since I already knew what/how everything worked. Just had to figure out how to hook it all up. I did thieve your application icon, also :)

I agree though, there's probably not enough users right now where I'll ever make my $ back on it, so yes it will only work on jailbroken phones/pods for now. I haven't talked to Roberto about it yet, maybe he'll be interested in sponsoring it or something. Either way, I'll most likely post the source code on github when I'm finished. This way Mac users will be able to pull it down and can figure out different ways to get it on their devices.. We'll see where it goes.

Thank You, sir. It's been fun learning a new language. Also not sure why I waited so long to get a Mac, I'm having a blast on it so far. Fear of the unknown perhaps, or maybe just being stubborn ::)

This is exactly the last thing I was waiting for to get this controller, definitely interested in seeing where this goes.
