New jawfish not looking so hot- plz help

How did you acclimate it?

 

i float it for temp for about 20-30 mins, then I dip the bag into the tank water, adding a little to the bag at a time. The whole process takes about an hour and half

 

Did you ask what the salinity/specific gravity it was in at the store? What is your salinity/specific gravity? Does your store run hypo-salinity to prevent ich?
Did they feed it for you to make sure it ate while at the LFS? How long was it at the LFS?

I'm truly sorry for your loss. I'm just trying to figure out what happened. When I would sell a fish, I would say, "This system is at 1.024 right now, where's your system at?" With that single question, a lot of animals were saved.

 

I dont know the answers to alot of those questions. I know my salinity is at about 1.023. Dont know what they keep theirs at. I did watch it eat and it was eating in the store. It was very healthy in the store. And when I was acclimating him, he was splashing all over the place in the bag, which I thought was a good sign, since they can be jumpers. He seemed fine when I first put him in. Like I said I couldnt find him last night, I think maybe he was just trying out different spots in the tank. I don't know what happened. Everything else in my tank is fine, corals, fish, hermits and snails, my hawkfish ate all my shrimp but im sure those would be good too
