This stuff is spreading very slowly, and is not a problem yet, but still it IS spreading so I figured I'd ask what it was.

Thes are the three rocks it's on so far. It seems to like the lowest parts of the tank.

My ammonia cycle was done in five days. My little diatom bloom came and went about ten days ago.

Lighting is still very moderate. I'm running 2x54W actinics 7 hours a day, and one each actinic and 10k for an additional four hours a day.

Nitrate and phosphate levels are near zero.

Looks like GHA. Are you using RO water or tap? Use of RO/DI is highly recommended.

Well it sounds like you are doing all of the right things. Make sure to keep the nitrate and phosphate as low as you can. Not sure how many snails you have but I could see you have at least one. Keep a good clean up crew to keep it in check.

    The Dude abides.

Your avatar cracks me up every time I see it. Looks like it is doing the breast stroke and determined to win. How did you get that pic?

I can't remember now ... I just saw it on the net somewhere and it cracked me up too, so I saved it. :)

I currently have about five each margarita, nassaurius, and astrea snails. Also maybe four or five blue leg hermits, and one banded coral shrimp.

I just now placed an order with Reefcleaners for a couple chitons ... plus five dwarf ceriths, five small nerites, and five periwinkles. I think I'll invest in one turbo snail from the LFS as well.

Is this too many snails? I can always give some away if they're gonna starve (even I can catch snails pretty easy) ;D
