What do you T5 guru's think about this for a NEP 6x54 using G-mann Powerchromes:

    2 AquaBlue+
    2 Pure Actinics
    1 Midday 6500k
    1 Actinic+

    Thanks Ames

Your gonna get a lot of different views on this. I would get rid of the 6500K and use another aqua blue+ and then have the rest actinic+, so 2 daylights and 4 actinics, that what I run. But if you want a little less blue look, use 1/2 and 1/2.

Well I have 2 setups that I have gotten from the T5 forum and I think both came from Dr.Frag but anyway here they are.

    ATI Blue +
    UVL Aquasun
    ATI Blue +
    GE 6500k Daylight
    ATI Blue +
    ATI Aquablue

Those are in order from front to back.

    Dr.Frag runs:

    3 Aquablue +
    3 Actinic
    2 6700k

    No idea what order though.

    Hope this helps!

What are you planning on keeping? If you're planning on a good number of SPS I would lose all of the true actinic (the 420nm wavelength ones, not the 460nm blue bulbs). With 6 bulbs maybe keeping 1 in isn't a bad idea if you really want that spectrum but it's probably not necessary.

You can usually get good color from good quality blue bulbs like the ATI Blue+ and also get good PAR output. The ATI Blue+ bulb for example puts out more PAR than some of the cheaper 10k/daylight bulbs and still gives a great blue color and "pops" lots of coral like actinics.

Okay maybe this config, LPS, Softies, Rics and Zoas. Its really about the Rics and Zoas because I'm fascinated with them.

    Actinic+ 460
    AquaBlue+
    Pure Actinic 420
    Midday 6700k for growth
    Actinic+ 460
    AquaBlue+

I was running these on my NEP.
    Front
    ATI Blue Plus
    Giesemann Aquablue+
    Korallen-zucht Fiji Purple
    Giesmann Midday
    UV Super Actinic
    ATI Blue Plus
    Back

I noticed I was losing color on some of my acro frags so I added more actinic just to try something. I used the Current actinics that came with the fixture. I'm now running this arrangement.

    Front
    ATI Blue Plus
    Current Actinic
    Korallen-zucht Fiji Purple
    Current Actinic
    UV Super Actinic
    ATI Blue Plus
    Back

The colors of the acros is coming back. It's just a matter of the colors popping under the different lights because I know what the frags looked like when I put them in and watched them fade somewhat.

The interesting thing is that under the above lighting arrangement my monti cap really took off but my digitatas seem to have slowed down a little. Millies are growing like crazy.

This color arrangement is very blue. You don't necessarily realize how blue it is until you go outside during the day and look through the window at your tank.
