I just started my 2nd tank on thurs, a 29 gal bio with custom led's. It will be primarily a sps tank. I will post pics of the scape tomorrow. I have a few questions for you pros. It has been 2 yrs since I started the other tank, and I don't remember where the paramaters were when I put a cuc in. I used LR and LS, there is some man made dead rock on the back wall. I put in 30 lbs of sand and 42 lbs of LR. My amonia wat 1.0 today and nitrate was 80ppm. What is next. Also, I have my first skimmer, an in tank aquatic life 115. I have it adjusted all the way down and it still fills the cup in around 4 hours with clear water. Is this just BC of all of the new plastic or what? Thank you for your help, and I will post pics in the AM. Dave

For the CUC, wait until nitrites and ammonia have both hit 0. Nitrates can be around 10-20 when you add them. Just wait it out for now.

Alo, leave the skimmer off while the tank is cycling. If you skim now, you may not get a complete cycle. When you do turn the skimmer back on when the tank has had time, the skimmer may take a few days to a week to "break-in."

Well I shut off the skimmer last night. I will test again today. Here are some pics. Moon lights, antics and full spectrum. I am thinking about taking the 80 deg lenses off, what do you think?

I like the rock a lot, just saw it. I do think however that the light appears to be, shall I say, "spot lighted". If intentional, fine, if not, you may want to add another strip or module. What LEDs are you using (what unit)?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    It looks very good!

Can you elaborate on the rocks on the back wall?

Is it one pieces, with separate pieces glued together? Are they really rocks or man made?
    :)
