new led fuge light?

    ok so looking at my local hardware store today i came across this Accent 36 LED PAR30 Reflector at Menards any idea if theese would work for a refuge light? if so it's only 15$ and would last for years with low power consumption

    I cant tell from the picture, whats the K rating and specs for the light?

    I don't know about that light. With the LEDs its tricky to find all the info needed to see if it pumps out enough "radiation" to do the job. However, this is for your sump right? In that case do what I did and get a 3$ Florissant "grow" light from the store. You basically need to keep it light to see everything and to give your cheato or whatever macro you got in there enough radiation to grow well. Plant Grow lights are pretty perfect for this and the florissant ones last forever.

    The packaging does have the kelvin rating. Zooming in on the picture of the light, in the packaging, I can't read the kelvin rating, but from the arrow, it appears that it is around 2700K-3300K. This is very yellow, but should be okay for a fuge. The only thing is you may get cyano in your fuge, but IMO, that is a good thing, as it will keep it out of your display. Would be perfect for an ATS.

    If I remember right though most macro's do better with the 5K-6.5K range, but yeah lately I was told lower K bulbs like that one are where its at for ATS.
