New Light Acclimation?

I finally found some lights that I like and will do well in my tank

Anywho back to the reason for this post. Im going to go purchase these lights at my LFS store tonight and I was curious if there was a proper procedure I needed to do to acclimate my fish and corals to the new light or can I just just put it up there and turn it on? Thanks!

Congrats on the new fixture, fish rarely require any special acclimation and the corals should be fine. You are basically going to just a larger fixture, not sure how many watts the bulbs are. Your mushroom may become somewhat mad and move, as I believe it is at the top of the rock work (images from other thread) the GSP will be fine though.

 

So the new bulbs are 30 watts. I suspect that being at the top that might initially make your mushroom mad. If you can move it down, or it may go for a walk.

 

I would cut back the lighting period in half and then add an hour back each week.
