Hey just got a 48" 4x54w ho t5 fixture with moonlight leds. Has built in timer. Has the contorded>sp? reflectors not the individual ones, but was only $125. Its on my 55. This should be enough for some beginner corals right? Like some zoa's and stuff. running 2 12k daylight and 2 antics.

Yup thats it. Thanks I couldn't find the MFG name anywhere on it. k+ Its brand new, she used it for about a day, but her boyfriend wanted MH. Ok so it would be like $156 with shipping, so I saved a little. Hope its lasts.

I think Odyssea has one reflector. The molded reflector reminds me of Current.

the pro version of the T5s are supposed to have individually contoured reflectors. not sure why yours does not. I have the regular version odyssea 54wx4 and it has 2 separate reflectors for 4 bulbs that mold around each bulb. Kind of strange but works decent. The PRO version is supposed to be a major improvement over the one I have. Supposed to have waterproof endcaps, 1 power cable vs my 3, and a built in dual digital timer. Not sure what else is different but it caught my interest. Let us kno how it works out. I would get new bulbs asap for that thing. The bulbs that came with mine were actually pretty decent. But I swapped them out anyway.

    Ya it says..
Highly Polished Individually Contoured Reflector. And I did read that the bulbs that come with it are crap. So Ill be upgrading those. So its seems to be a decent fixture, a lot better than the standard florescence I had.

If it is Odyssea, be careful about getting bulbs that are not supported by the ballasts. Coldshot had an Odyssea PC unit, tried to put UVL in it and the ballasts blew. Not sure about T5s, but with PCs, you are stuck with their bulbs plain and simple. Hopefully, that is not the case with your unit.

Modd'ing in SLRs could be done.. as far as swapping out ballasts... a matter of cutting some wires and adding butt splices. No time at all
