DevinH yes you are right It was brought to my attention and changed it all around now. Working on getting more water flow to help as well.

The rocks I get from the LFS here in Tampa. The two larger coral skeletons. One my brother sent me the other was from a neighbor.

I was wondering if this was good enough to start adding coral. I have two of the 72" fixtures and 2 of the 36" t5's. Since I read a lot of bad stuff about where I bought the lights I had no issues with them.

    2x's 72" Led Fixtures....

    Fixture Size: 70.50" x 5.00" x 1.00" (Add 0.65" in height with bracket installed)
    LEDs Count: 52
    7020 Lumens
Super energy efficient 3 watt high output LEDs
    40x 10,000K LED
    12x Actinic 460nm LED
    Use 156 watts

    Features:
Best design: slim, light, and yet, contemporary
A three ways toggle on/off switch functions as (1) White/Act. Blue, (2) Off, & (3) Act. Blue as lunar light
Extends up to 74" in length with brackets installed
    Individual & replaceable lenses
    An external high power transformer

    T5's x 2 to equal 72"
    Feature
    Dimensions - 35.50" x 5.00" x 1.70"
    Supports 2x 39W T5 HO fluorescent lamps
    Standard T5 Sockets
Extendable bracket - 40" max length
    Quick disconnect external ballast
    Non-corrosive powder coated aluminum housing
    Acrylic splash guard
    Reflector
    CE Certified
    Package includes:
    1x 36" T5 Dual fixture
    1x 39W T5 10000K lamp (Free Item)
    1x 39W T5 Actinic 460nm lamp (Free Item)

They are all mounted 12 inches above the water and the back of the canopy is open with very little heat transfer and the chiller barely runs now. My Electric bill dropped 40 bucks in the last two months. So far so good, just wondering about your thoughts?

615 views I'm surprised I didn't get one opinion on the question if the lighting set up is sufficient for a reef?

LED and T5 combo is a winner, IMO. Aren't you still looking at $100ish in bulbs though?

Yes, if it's cycled awhile, and params are good, by all means, add the corals you want, softs and LPS as you know are usually added first, but if your water is good (looks Good FWIW), then sps also.

The tank is looking real good!
Oh, and unless you keep your house real hot, doubt it, IMHO, you won't need a chiller- sell that puppy on CL!
