New lights need 20k halide bulbs

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Are you looking for any type of tint to the lighting, like blue or crisp white?

    I like Radium, Phoenix in that order, but I hear a lot of good things about Ushio and Iwasaki, I have no personal use with the last two.

    I have the phoenix 14k. It rocks and the corals look AMAZING!!! A Definite buy!!!

    i want more of a bluer look. I know 14k will get better growth but i dont want the yellow look

    +1 on the Pheonix 14k

    This is my tank with it, its been running for 1.5 months.

    Has great color, its got the look of a 20k with a growth of a 10k.

    If 250w SE I prefer the Radium slightly over the Phoenix.
    If 250w DE, I prefer the Phoenix.

    As I stated before in another thread, Radiums may be in short supply since they are not complying with new federal guidlines. The aquatics industry is so small they may not even bother with attempting to comply.

    I run a Radium 20K 250w SE bulb driven by a Galaxy e-ballast in a Lumenmax 2 pendant, love it. I will get Phoenix 14K also for my next bulb.

    The Radium puts out a really nice white/blue light, in photos the blue looks very predominant but this pic below is close to what it looks like in person, I dialed the blue back a bit:
