    not buy that fixture. lol
    check out marine depot i think you will have much better results. for reef lighting you want around 160 watts to grow corals on a 40 gallon tank

    well every tank is different. due to gallonage, dimensions, coral that are desired.

    but a t5 HO setup would be best for your tank for any type of coral
    with atleast 160 watts total(the wattage is important)

    I would like something that if I change something in the tank I would not need to change the lighting

    What sostoudt suggested could be your best bet, I have the 216W 4 lights
    and so far so good, low maintenance and easy on the electric bill also. And if the tank length dimension is smaller 48" it is less than $200. Not to be rude;
    but you can buy them online way cheaper, try some of the site sponsors.
