    Hi all,
I currently have a pair of rather agressive tomato clowns, and a coral beauty angel fish in my 55 gallon tank. I do keep corals and do have a cleaner shrimp. I would like to add a couple more fish into the tank, but my clowns seem to hunt down anything that goes in (my royal gramma for example who had to be saved as they chased him every time he came out). I was looking for suggestions from anyone about it. I've had a couple suggestions to get an anemone for the clowns and that would settle them down, but I'd be afraid of my corals being casualties of that. I've also had suggestions of a yellow tang, but have been told if I were to do that, that nothing else could really be added after that, which I'm not sure I want either. If worse came to worse I could try and catch the clowns and sell them to the LFS, but that would require me dismantling all my rock etc, which I'm not sure I want to do (there are definitely spots they would go amongst my rock that I would not be able to get them).
Any thoughts or suggestions on either how to tame the clowns aggressiveness and/or what new fish might work out with them?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I have a Yellow Watchman Goby with my aggressive clowns. The clown gives the goby a wide birth after having the goby latch onto the clowns tail a time or two. I would not introduce a young YWG but an older one might do ok.

An older Dotty back might be able to hold it's own.

With all that said, I had to eventually get rid of my aggressive Maroons because I could not introduce any fish without the new fish getting killed.

    Good Luck.

+1 There are no tangs that will fit in that size tank. I would say a Dottyback would be your best bet but as Corailline said it won't be easy. Tomato clowns get nasty.

1+ I wish I had a tank for a pair though. Tomato clownfish are probably my favorite clownfish.

My Royal Gramma (which is a dottyback, right?) was chased constantly and never came out of his rock hiding place because of them. Is there a specific type of dottyback you are all thinking of?

The Royal Gramma often gets confused with the Bicolor Dottyback- which is a Pseudochromis, not a Basslet- because of the similarity in their color. The Dottyback, however, is aggressive enough to defend itself; mine certainly did- even against multiple damsels. They learned rather quickly to leave it alone.
