I saw these at my LFS about 4 days ago... maybe 5. They look better IMHO. We'll have to wait on some performance reports from the users, but AFAIK maxi-jets are cheap in price and more important, solid.

I am not sure I follow you here - are you saying kits plus the price of the pump is less than these MSRPs?

I don't know that they realized that is for the pump AND the mod in the same box...but I do think that they arent pushing as much water as the 3rd party mod...maybe an upgrade in propeller would fix that? :)

exactly and they 3rd party kits puts out more flow, that is with the maxijet included.
1200 with kit is 35 dollars on marine depot, and it comes with 2 props one for 1600gph and 2000 gph. Even the msrp beats MSRP.

most upgrade kits sell for 15 and a good priced maxijet is like 25 dollars.

While marine depot is the cheapest, aquacave sells them also( although sperately) for only around 5 dollars more.

there kit may have been worth it if they added a magnetic attachment instead of the suction cups but they didn't. If they are only making the 50 dollar kits now, They have assured I won't buy maxi-jets anymore, assuming online stores don't actually sell it for like 30 dollars.
