Got the order in from clams on demand and accimilated and reacts well to shadows and immediately attached its foot to the rockwork within about 10 mins in the tank. Question is now though that as its opening up, its mantle looks like it has a hole in it bout 1/4 the size of the whole clam. Its not the siphon im talking about, I can literally see the inside of the clam. This is my first clam so its very new to me but from what ive seen pictures of it doesnt look like other maximas.

These are the best pics I can get, its the bottom of the clam.

Yeah you will get that, I got a 6.5" maxima from clamdsondemand bout 2 months ago.. Still flinches when fish are by it every now and then. not to much though. My other maxima from fosters and smith could care less if a fish sits on it. and its been in the tank for bout 5 months now!

I actually managed to get him to release and put him a tad higher and leveled him out now, looks better in the tank and starting to open back up again. Im happy with the 2nd placement so hopefully it will be also and attach himself. Lol now the original aquascape I did for the newbie is like a big ol hole in the spot so I think ima run to the store and get a nice frogspawn and throw it there. I really love this clam now really adds better life and eye candy to the tank!

Congrats on the candy, clam, and finding a good spot for it.

Lol well ok went grocery shopping and he was on the sand, GD mexicans knocked him over, so I put him up high and kinda wedge his rock foot into a crevice so it will stay put for the most part, ive been putting him thru alot of stress moving him around so hopefully he will get happy and calm now!
