One more thing guys, My tanks temp is at 71-74 right now and its not even winter winter yet.

Its getting colder here but in the summer its very hot.

What sort of device should i get for my 180 to maintain optimal temps all year summer or winter?

research chillers, and stealth makes a good heater if you need one.

I can see problems happening very fast with your livestock and wallet.

The temp. where your Purple Tangs come from is between 79-86 degrees.

I see that you added a Snowflake eel, this could pose a problem with small fish and other crustaceans. Keep a very close watch on the eel and livestock that disappears.

    Welcome to 3reef.

Hate to say this but from the stuff you have done so far you are on your way to spending a lot of money and watch a bunch of livestock die. This is not a piece of furniture that you have added to your house...it is a Eco system and needs time to develop. Without the bacteria there the fish will never make it. Slow down, research and most of all find PATIENCE.
    Amen
He will not go good in a reef tank. Should of researched first. NEVER buy fish on impulse, you will only regret it.

Hope this doesn't sound harsh, but I don't know how to get the point across.

Snowflake eels will do fine in a Reef It's just your typical reed inverts and fish will become the eels food source. LOL

Like others I feel you really need to slow down. I would imagine you will see your Ammonia levels rise because of the bioload you now have and the limited LR. If you get more LR you will have to cure it in a separate tank so you do not poison your DT.

Good Luck but I feel you have an up hill battle ahead of you

Not Harsh at all Otty, I appreciate your input and it is the along the same advice I am getting in books, at the SWFS, and on this board.

As mentioned I understand most of the risk, cost, and other concerns some of you are expressing.

To be honest the money isn't really the issue here. I was wondering about what the expertise of the members here says about the cycle numbers I put up.

Thanks for the advice on the heater guys I will pick one up in several hours.

Im going to start documenting the bad that is coming from my impulse and unwillingness to wait. Ill take pics and if things do go wrong we can make a what not to do thread with images.
