Hello all, new to the forum but I have been in the hobby for a few years. I have recently started a 40B reef tank to replace my 20L nano and wanted advice from experienced reefers on my stock list.

As far as fish goes I currently have my false perc. From my old tank and just yesterday added a lubbocks fairy wrasse and in the future I will be getting a diamond watchman goby. I had one in my old tank and he kept my sand in pristine condition before leaping to his demise. My options are:

    Midas blenny
    Firefish
    Chromis
    Cardinal fish

I will also be adding a skunk cleaner. The midas blenny is my top choice but I am a bit worried that because if the similarities in shape to the diamond watchman that there would be aggression issues. Anyone kept both in this size tank successfully? All help is appreciated, thank you.

To be clear, you currently have a Clown and a lubbocks fairy wrasse, and want a diamond watchman Midas blenny, Firefish, Chromis and a Cardinal fish?
How many chromis do you want? If you're going for a schooling effect, don't get your hopes up, schooling usually only occurs in the wild or VERY large tanks. If it were me I would skip the chromis and get a couple cardinal fish. I really like flame, yellow striped, orange striped or stoplight cardinal fish.

Sorry for the confusing post. I want one of the fish on the list, not all of them.

Blennies are typically more aggresive then gobies so mixing them in a small tank can lead to fighting. They also share the same zone so cohabitation can be difficult.

    No worries :)
While I find that midas blennies tend to be more active swimmers and Watchmans tend to be sand bed dwellers, I wouldn't mix them either.

Are you looking for any "different fish" or just general fish? I would check out Liveaquaria.com for ideas.

I am open to anything that will be reef safe with low aggression.

Everyone has different tastes in fish. I would suggest going to an online site and looking around at fish for ideas.

Assessors/other basslets are neat, smaller hawkfish, dwarf angelfish, etc.
IMO I don't think a shrimp/watchmen goby will have too many problems with a Midas, considering Midas Blennies are active swimmers that tend to mimic Anthias. Especially if the Goby is paired up the a Pistol Shrimp.
