I have a 55g with lots of LR, deep sand bed, variety of corals, couple of fish, BakPak skimmer, 250W MH, two Koralia2 and one Koralia4 for circulation. Dripping kalkwasser. This tank has been going for about 8 years now. No filtration. No water changes, just replacement of evaporation, using untreated Pasadena tap water.

Candy cane coral does well in this tank, as does hammerhead coral.

I have a malevolent and aggressive hawkfish who refuses to die - he's been in almost since I set up the tank. He is a major nuisance whenever I want to add fish. The only fish who has stood up to him is a clownfish, who he currently shares the tank with.

    A pic

I have a bunch, none of them very good (I find photographing tanks very difficult). Here's one.

your corals look good :) and I love the purple of your coralline, very pretty purple!

you do know you have a hair algae problem, right? PM John Maloney on here. He works at reefcleaners.com, one of our sponsors. He'll get you cleared up in no time!

Get a Foxface, it won't be bothered by the Hawkfish. He'll just poke him if it gets too rough.;)

Looks great - I love the candy cane colony.

You need to get something to clean up that hair algae though. Using untreated tap water may be part of the problem ;)

cuttingras is right - John Maloney at reefcleaners will hook you up. Great service and I've had great luck with the snails / crabs / etc. from him.
