Hi I'm a newbie to the site, hi guys, I have long seeked info from your site, so decided to join in, my set up is 48x30x30 I have a 36x18x12 sump, lighting is currently twin 250 halides 14000k and a 250w cfl in the sump. A twc1600 skimmer sits on side of the tank, an assortment of wavemakers, a TMC 600 ultraviolet, the sump is made up of live rock, deep sand bed and a large section of Chaeto algae. In its current guise the tank is now two years young, two months ago I lost 80% of my fish, this was due to a sea apple getting into one of the pumps. Disaster, tank is just about recovered now, all my parameters are back in the normal range at last. I have never had any luck keeping anemones or hard corals, no issues with soft. More of that later, thought I would say hello before bombarding you with questions, currently making a replacement LED lighting rig to lose the halides, costing a fortune!
    Cheers guys
