    Montiporas are great starter sps. Doesn't have high requirements. As long as your tank is fully cycled and has been running stable. You wont have any problems. They also don't need a lot of light so keep it at the bottom and put them in less light if you start to see some bleaching. Let us know how it goes.

    i'm curious about these guys too... if/when they bleach do they get their color back after they adjust or are the permanently bleached

    I think this is why I couldnt keep montis. are there other params that might affect me being able to keep montis?? all lps seem to be doing fine as well as some millis. but every single monti dies maybe I started them up too like you mentioned earlier

    I did an experiment with iron, iodine and potassium..they have a lot to do with color..plus your alk mag an calc have to be in order all the time..phosphates and nitrates effect growth too...I had a green monti that was starting to bleach, i tested and added iron...bright green the next day...I bought a brown birdsnest that was brown, i let it be for a few weeks then tested iodine and potassium brought them up to speed and its getting purple polyps, the actual body hasnt gotten all its color back but its looks way better than it did in just a few days. I also belive strontium has an effect on colors too but i dont have a testkit yet to be accurate..I have found good growth with feeding roti feast mixed with coral accel, microvert, cyclopeez, live photo, and zooplankton.
