Finally jumped in on the Vortech bandwagon and got an mp10w from BRS that came today. It is a little louder than I would have wanted, on full speed anyway, compared to my Koralia but at least it wont start in reverse!

I set it up on the tank and cant seem to figure out the modes. I thought purple meant nutrient transport mode but it seems to just put it into a short pulse mode. Is this because these modes are meant for 2 pumps and with only 1 I can not use much more than the constant speed mode?

Congrats and welcome to the MP10 club. ;)

NTM has many different flow patterns, it will start with a rapid pulse and slowly transform to surge pulses. I use NTM at night, works wonders.

Thanks, I got really tired of my Koralia 750 starting in reverse. On the plus side it was almost silent and I was able to aim the flow but the sandbed never looked clean, it either blew it all over or let stuff grow on it. Heres to hoping the Vortech fixes that problem.

I plan on getting a second one to take full advantage of the modes in the near future. In the mean time does it make any sense to run the nutrient transport move with a single pump? Right now I have it on lagoon mode and seem to be happy with it so far. The corals dont all look super happy but I think it may be because I was playing with all the modes up to max speed blasting stuff around the tank.

What mode do you use during the day Biocube? I thought you were supposed to run sleep mode at night to calm the reef down.

Hopefully my wife is already complaining she can hear it with the TV on low. I might adjust tomorrow to make sure everything is aligned just right

Make sure you use the rubber gaskets and that you have the cord aligned with the correct spacer for your glass thickness if it's anything like the 40s either of those will make it louder.

Women fixate on noises I've learned. It isn't your Vortech...it's the woman. ;) If she can hear it with the TV on...no better time to introduce the 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound bug into her brain. Win/Win! ;D Congrats on the MP10...you'll love it!

Haha thanks for the advice! I do have a good soundbar but would lvoe to go surround sound instead!

I too can hear it though maybe it is because its only a few inches below the water surface or not fully aligned 100%. TOmorrow will be a troubleshooting and learning of all the modes day as I try to find a happy spot with the flow in the reef.
