    Holy cow - I sure do appreciate the all the feedback!!! My apologies for burning up your lunch time. All great info.

    I have a quick follow up questions to your lighting suggestion. Do you know if one of the T5 fixtures can be modded into my stock Biocube hood? I would prefer not having to remove the stock hood to replace with another light fixture if possible.

    i've done something like this once, just looking for pictures of it now. But in a 10G aqua one cube i put 2 PC globes in it, ballast was a seperate unit, meaning the lid could close. Worked awsome until my drill holes cracked about 7 months later rendering the whole tank useless. Thats why I've changed up the whole nano procedure and gone with a standard tank and seperate light fitting.
    But its definatly a good thing to replace the standard hood lights.
