Just picked him up at the store against my better judgement but the girlfriend was persuasive. I had the LFS feed all the ORA Mandarins they had with some frozen mysis and bloodworms. I was SOOO impressed they went crazy, I was watching a tiny one try to stuff her mouth full of worms but she couldnt fit them all. So I got him home, after acclimation and a little bit of exploring I tried to feed him some mysis. Hes interested but by them time he finally decides to attack the frozen mysis it has started drifting. Might have to pull out a mandarin diner for him. Gorgeous fish, he has the brightest green tint. Oh and BTW i didnt know they ORA mandarins dropped in price by 50%

$35, the ORA this past summer ran in the 70-90 range if i recall correctly. Wish he would eat in the DT though ha. He just follows it around, Im guessing just not settled yet. The tang keeps snatching his food.

Nice one more reason to boycott my LFS, got mine about a month ago and he said he'd order me an ORA if i wanted for $90! My guy seems to finally start picking at some mysis, but i would've definitely spent $35 for an ORA verse $18 or whatever!

I questioned the guy when he said it was $35 for their ORA's but I had him demonstrate that they ate frozen and all 3 or 4 of them that they had did... Shocking

Nice looking fish! :) I'm glad you asked the LFS to feed it first and that it ate prepared foods. I just bought a new fish the other day and it took him a few days before he ate for me. Now he swarms the food with the rest of the fish I have lol. I'm sure he will be fine.

ORA is just a supplier as well. It is up to the LFS to set their prices based on how much profit they want to make off of their products. Business is business. ORA could have dropped their prices because they may have more supply than demand as well.
