No but they would decimate your pod population causing you to feed them very often. Since these fish are shy by nature and slow feeders other more aggresive feeders in the tank make this job even tougher.

Oh ok, well to honest I don't think I have much of a pod population to begin with. The tank is a little over a year old and I haven't really seen many pods in awhile. Even if they are eating prepared foods do they still need the pods? I've gotten pretty good at target feeding the blenny since he is one of the slowest feeders in the tank.

Yahoo! This is wonderful news! Wonderful too that you've got him eating something other then the brine shrimp.
I've had my ORA Target now for 6 weeks :) Target feeding 2-3 times daily.

Keep posting updates! I'm subscribing :)

He's a cute looking little guy in your profile picture. I wish I could handle the target feeding multiple times a day. Although mine seems to be doing ok on the once daily spot feedings, but I have noticed if I stop feeding for more than just a couple days he starts getting skinny fast so I ensure I do not skip days unless I have absolutely no choice. It definitely requires dedication and a wet arm (unless you have a long feeder). Also since introducing him to the tank I have seen no pods in the tank.

I've taken to reseeding pods 1x monthly. At $28 a month for 1000 ya can't go wrong. I split em up, between tank an fuge. This way I make sure there's some available. If your interested in where I get them just pm me :)

Latest update is that the mandarin continues to seem well, he is now eating selcon soaked pellets apparently (still his staple food is reef caviar). He has learned anything that comes out of the syringe is a food item.
