ok. air = BAD. How do I add it to my tank w/o mixing the fish store water to my water?

It was double bagged that's why. Believe me I stood right there and watched him do everything including sealing the bag underwater. It's too big and I have no where to put it.

Put the bag in a container 1/2 full of your tank water. Sink the bag it came in, and cut it open. Remove and toss the bag. If you can drip line from your tank, that would be best. If not. Add about a cup of your tanks water every 10-15 min. Whwn the container is close to full. Dip out some of the water, and keep adding from your tank. Do this about 3 times, and most of the store water will be gone. Sink the container in your tank and place the sponge.

Wow that seems like a lot of work(not to sound lazy..), but well worth it. That sponge looks so sweet. :)

    Any other special requirements?
    I know this:
    -keep under low light
    -blow off every once-in-awhile
-Do not let sponge have air contact

    They like water movement?

    So that's it though? Doesn't sound too difficult. It's a filter-feeder isn't it?

Just as long as it has some movement to bring food by. You dont want to blow it away.

good enough flow to get nutrients to it, and good enough so algae doesnt buildup on its pores. they filter water.. if some parts do get exposed to air they will turn white. cut those tips/sections off the sponge before it spreads. I've had to cut my tree sponge twice due to air bubble during WC. it looks like a pole now, but is growing again.
