I picked this guy up to replace my DIY overflow: https://www.aquatraders.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=78

It was installed last night. first thing I noticed was the baffle between the C chamber and the drain bulkhead leaks somewheres as when I Would fill the inner portion to start my siphon the water would drain very slowly to the other side... making it a PITA to get a siphon started. I just stopped the drain and started the siphon up.. I can fix the slow leak later.

anyhow.. I cannot believe how much faster this thing moves water! just a 600 GPH but my Rio 2100 cannot keep pace. any recommendations for a new return pump?

I use the same o/flow. Make sure to the keep the connection from nipple to airline clean. It will gum up with random crap and flood your house. And fixing a leak is harder to do later. I have let slow leaks go and salt build-up usually stops it.

Did you get the aqualifter also? Self priming and alot safer. They do move quick ,so expect bubble build up in the top.

I use a mag 12 on mine. I have unusual plumbing though. You could probably get away with a 7-9 depending on plumbing. You can get a siphon going on those o-flows by sucking the air out through the a-lifter connection.

can't you jump on one of those cargo flights for free? like a C-130 or DC-10 or somehting? I remember when I was in the Army they had free flights all the time. no seats and you had to sit w/ cargo but it was free.

yep, it's actually my job to load passengers and cargo on them. but finding one from Okinawa to stateside is hard and the bi-weekly passenger only rotator fills quick during the summer, I wouldn't have a chance in hell to get on it since they are loaded by category. Space required (PCS orders, etc) are category 1.. ordinary leave is 3. most of the time they dont even get through category II which is Environmental Morale Leave.

ETA: now we are required to have seats for the passengers to sit in... though I once strapped an army prisoner to the floor of a C130 when we ran out. the guards enjoyed watching it and I had no problems doing it.
