Alright. So this is my first reef tank (that has lasted more than a week). It has been running since 4/21/11. It has been about a month I guess. I swear there wasnt even a cycle. I started a few years ago with a BC 8g. That was hell. It just ended in disaster so I took a break. I saw my tank for a good deal so I bought it and found some LR on craigslist for $3 a lb. I put in some not live sand and the rock with water and I didnt test the first day or two. After that It seemed fine so I added a CUC from reefcleaners :)cheesy:). All was well so I added fish. Again it was good so I got coral! I was never able to keep any coral before so Im happy.

    Livestock:

    Fish:
    2 percula clowns
    1 firefish
    1 coral beauty
    1 flame angel
    1 sapphire damsel

    Inverts:
    1 pom pom
    1 cleaner shrimp
    1 peppermint

    Coral:
    1 wall frogspawn
    1 monti cap
    1 green acro
    1 ORA neon green birdsnest
    1 ORA birds of paradise
    1 pink birdsnest
    1 brown/purple birdsnest
    1 yellow birdsnest?
    1 blueberry monti confusa?
1 unknown monti frag (green base w/ red polyps)
    1 brown/green poccilopora
1 orange acro w/ green polyps
    2 favia frags
    some xenia
    some GSP
a frag of blue snowflake polyps
tons of zoas (solomon ring of fire, radioactive green, watermelon, peach melba, kedd red, and green eyed blackberry)
    Oh and a tubinaria frag

    I think thats everyting.

Im still new to all of this but I think Im doing ok. Everything seems stable with:
    pH 8.2
    Alk usually 11 dKH
Calcium was well over 500 but now stable at 420
I dont have a mag test though...

I found an old reptile dripper and decided to use that to drip Kalk which works great! The oceanic skimmer isnt the best (I know) but it seems to work ok. It pulls out alot of murky brown water. It only works if I jack up the bubbles all the way and raise it out of the water like a few more inches.

Now I cant wait for a huge sps only BB tank! Thats next.

Oh my camera isnt that good soo...

Thanks guys. It's a 150w 14,000k Phoenix. It's nice. Yeah I still get nervous about some of the Sps I have. The new ones always take a while to look happy again. The first bidsnest I got looked very unhappy until like a week ago. Now it has a lot of PE and is growing everyday! So the new acros I have are doing the same thing so I'm just trying to be patient and just let them adjust. I can't wait for everything to grow. Corailline I love your red planet! How long did it take to look like that?

Goodness haha. The tank looks awesome! I can't imagine the money you've probably spent in the last month brother haha. My hats off to ya. How do the flame and coral beauty do together? No fighting or anything?
