A friend of mine gave me some frags of his ponape birdsnest. His colony was quite large so he gave me a few frags from it. Does this grow as fast as say ORA green birdsnest? Here's a shot of 3 of the 4 new frags :D cant wait till this thing colors up some more... excited to get some bright pink tips lol.

Nice looking frags. I have not had the corals so I can't help on growth.

If anyone has a picture of their colony or frags id love to see how they vary in colors. Ive heard the brighter the light the more pink comes out and the less light the more green it will have.

I have mine growing in the sandbed under 250 watt radiums and high flow. Its a nice pink color never ran a par test though to see what I'm getting.

I have this but I frag so often I haven't let it grow very big (Maybe 3"x3", now with a couple of recent cuttings). My experience on it so far is this:

Best growth under about 15-18k light spectrum
Best looking under 18-22k light spectrum
Obviously they don't make bulbs with this spectrum but I am guestimating based on bulb combo and actinic bulb supplementation
Medium flow for Small to medium sized frags (any higher you will see tissue damage)
Medium to High Flow for larger colonies (decreases but doesn't altogether eliminate the chances of dead spots)
As with most birdsnests, once the colony becomes large enough there will most likely be some recession death at the base, as it want get enough light/flow to keep it alive unless it is in a truly advantageous spot in the tank. Most people don't want to keep a birdsnest in these spots as they can become almost nuisance large eventually.

Hope this helps and good luck.

I have a frag and the tips are pink (very end is white) and the rest is a mixture of green/pink. It's under 120 watt LEDs at 30% output.

Thanks. It's really taken off the last month. It started slow as it acclimated, but the last month or so has been impressive.
