    Alright, here's the deal.....

I recently purchase a 150 gal tank. It included the Mag-drive 24 return pump. It is no good (sat too long apparently). I do have a small return pump from my current tank that will work interim, however it will be low flow for this larger tank.

I have a MP 40 on order. I could have them stop this order and switch for a return pump or I could use keep the low flow return and have good flow in the tank via the MP40.

You see my problem. Both seem viable options. Anybody see something major that I am missing?

How far does the return need to go? Is the sump in the basement, or in the stand?

You might want to try a new impeller on that mag24. That would be cheaper than a new pump, but a mag24 isa lot of pump, if you don't need it.

Is the tank drilled with an internal overflow or are you planning on using an external overflow with a siphon U-tube? If you are planning an external overflow you will want to have a lot of flow t keep bubbles from accumulating in the U-tube.
