    Hi Guys...

Ive been an avid fish keeper for about 7 years, bought my first tropical tank and never looked back, kept a variety of tanks and fish since then.. But have not been in the fish circles for about 1 year, after moving from Uni from job to job, didnt feel it was fair to cart my fish from house to house so i thought id wait till i had a permanent address before picking up where i left off...
However i have been toying for years with the idea of having my own reef tank. Always thought of marine tanks as a little above my skill set, but now feel confident that my experience warrants the upgrade...
So now im back... and will be asking you guys lots of questions about tanks, species and equipment so i hope you dont get to tired of me...;D

    looking forward to conversing...

Welcome! I'm new to this great community here. Everyone is very helpful and friendly! I always tell my friends that ask me about saltwater systems this "It's not as hard as you think. It's about the same as freshwater, just a little more expensive, that's it." You just need higher quality filtration than freshwater, i.e. protein skimmer, and better lighting. But over all, a good freshwater tank owner will transition to a good saltwater tank owner. A bad freshwater owner will generally translate to a bad saltwater owner. When the owner of the fish cares, it doesn't matter if it's salt or fresh, they will do their best to make sure the fish are happy and healthy. :)
