Sounds cool. Potty training this pup in the winter should be interesting...

Congrats Seano! You had commented on the boxer in my avatar a couple weeks ago. We just got added another boxer boy to the household. His name is Lewis and he is 11 weeks old.

Didn't think I'd ever read to page 4 of a dog thread on a fish forum. ;)

Call of the wild is a good food. It is grain free, which is super important down the road. I battled cancer with our older boxer and did alot of research and most of the specialists in oncology recommend a grain free food. I am not sure all the workings but the extra carbohydrates in foods with grains "feed" cancer or something. Anyway, he has been cancer free for 2 years so I am not going back. I think someone else had mentioned that it is a "rich" food so it might be a little hard on the digestion, which is true. Some of the grain free foods can get REALLY high protein ratios and really do a number on digestion. I think anything around 30% + or - would be good. I went with another grain free that is chicken by Wellness for the protein since that is a little easier to digest than the proteins in Call of the Wild, which has formulas for water fowl or bison/venison.

In any case, if your little guy is doing fine on the COW I would keep him on it or switch very slowly.

haha. It is a rather long thread. Thanks. Congrats on your new little one as well. :)

My last dog(a chocolate lab named Buckeye) died from losing too much weight. His teeth were bad, which is why he stopped eating, then he just kept getting skinnier. We had him for about 4-6 years. He way probably 14 when he died. He had cancer at one time, which the previouse owner told use was not the bump on his head(which really, that's what it was). We fed him Beniful(sp?) all while we had him. Now I realised that wasn't a good idea.

What did you mean by COW?
