Man they broke ANOTHER one!!!! Buyer beware this bucket is so thin you can almost see through it. I ordered on Nov. 15 it went as far as Chicago. Broke. They sent it back. Item on backorder.I waited all day for it today. I leave for five minutes and come home to another broken bucket of salt. It was wrapped in a salt filled plastic bag.Yikes.Why me. I called dr.fs and they said its happened to a couple other people so they would try again this time through UPS. Talk about goin from bad to worse. :(

Mine came yesterday.. luckily not broken.. But I wasn't too happy with the test results.. First I would like to say, can salt companies give measurements in cups? It's a little hard when you tell me I need 1.6 pounds per 5 gallons.. I like Tropic Marin because they give in cups.. Anyway everything was tested at 77F per directions. salinity was 1.025//35ppt. CA was 400(if that) alk was 14 and mag was 1350.. The entire reason I got this salt was because of the higher ca levels.. Hopefully the next water change will yield better results.. Evan if it does it just shows me I can't count on consistent results.. We'll see how it goes. If it stays like this I'll be switching back to TM Bio-Actif...

    Yikes. Too many broken buckets.

Salt is harder to weigh than to measure the volume of. But the weight is actually a more accurate measurement.

I thought this brand was supposed to have Cal levels of nearly 500? What happened to that?

Interesting... did you mix the salt in the bucket a bit first? I found that helped with salt mixes I have used lately. My tests ran 450 on calcium and over 1400 on mag... what kits are you using? Also I am using 3.75 cups per 10 gallons... not sure how that translates to you measurement...

I will test mine tomorrow. I actualy was able to salvage a good amount of the salt. Dr. Fosters is sending me another free bucket so actually it worked out in the end.8)

My older version comes with some trash nylon wires inside the bag... And there is some brownish residual stuff in my mixing bucket if I leave the water there for days... Anyway the levels seems good and my levels are more stable than I was using IO...

Didn't mix it up. didn't think it was necessary. Maybe I'll try that...
For the Ca test I used Red Sea and to confirm I used Seachem(brand new).. For the Mag I used Elos... I mixed up 13 gallons which pretty much turned out to be 4 lbs...

i started using Red Sea Coral Pro salt a month or so back and love it. Drs. Foster and Smith is who i ordered from. 7.95 flat rate shipping and excellent service.
i like the results. it takes a bit longer than IO to mix but well worth it to me.
