Well I took everyone's advice and have been patient getting my gear and letting the tank cycle. It's been 3 months for my 65g with only a canister filter and sand bed, all my perimeters are good. So now I need your help lol I have a couple of questions related to the equipment I have purchased. I will list everything below.

65g tall 36" T5 Ho 6 bulb with moon light 4x Koreala 1050's with the koreala wave maker (where should each power head be placed and is this amount of for the size of my tank?) Pro 125 sump w/ built in skimmer to replace the canister (they say live rock is best so do I just replace the bio balls or modify the sump and turn part of it into a refugeum ? I can't find video on this sump) I purchased 40lbs of rock from Dr. Smith and it looks good but I also have 30lbs of aregocreate that I made, it looks good also but MUCH more pourase. Should I use one or both? I'm going to get 30lbs of live rock from my lfs to add to it. 2.5" sand bed with 4lbs live rock for cycling (since it has been 3 months shouldn't my sand be live now and good for seeding my new rock?) And I also got a 50gph RO/DI set up with a 50g drum with TDS meter, 300 heater, and 1300gph power head for mixing salt.

Is there anything else I need lmao? Most of it is pulled in a corner next to my sump still boxed up lmao, that's patients lol

I'm kinda skeptical about the built in skimmer on the sump but it got good reviews, your thoughts?

I plan on putting all this stuff together this weekend so any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

    Thanks,

    Welcome to 3reef Gusher,

I am not familiar with the built in skimmer, bump for that.

Seems like you are going to have to play with the rock types to see if both types of rock mixed together will be aesthetically appealing. Since you have the water in the tank it might be easier to design scapes on a flat surface.

As far as placement of power heads I usually start with 2 to each back corner. Personally I try to get my flow to go in a circular pattern with very little direct flow hitting any one area of corals. Powerhead placement is something you will play with a thousand times. Some flow directed at the surface to provide good surface agitation is important.

Yes your sand is alive by now if you have maintained the correct SG so you do not need add any other seeding material. The cured live rock will help establish the coralline algae.

Hopefully others can assist with the equipment.
