Before I could rinse the new live sand that I added to my new setup, the other half dumped it in. I had water in it for testing of flow ect., so now its blowing sand into the tank. Any suggestions?

Now that it's already in there, I'd just keep everything on and let the filters take care of it. I feel your pain!

Ok, everythings just freaking out or not acting normally, so I'm going to check my levels and wait it out.

Probably the shock of the cloudiness in the water. You could turn off a few powerheads, leaving your skimmer, filter and one PH to keep the water moving. This might help the stuff settle faster.

I had a mini freakout when I didn't rinse a back of chem-pure when I put it into my tank. Couldn't see anything through the gray foggy water, but everything came out ok.

Well its now been several hours later. I tested all my levels, and everything was fine except for ph was a little high. (Am I correct in thinking that this is because I've switched from a mechanical filter to the refugium?)

Except now, my Coral beauty isn't looking to good. She looks like she's having trouble breathing and swimming.......she's even "laying" down on the lr. If I build up a small qt tank think that might give her a fighting chance?

Ok, two days later and ph hasn't gone down at all, but instead has gone way way up. Was at 8.2 before switching out the Rena filter for the refugium. (The rena had been blowing micro-bubbles, so had to go...) Now Ph is 8.5. Did a 40% water change as well. Lost the coral beauty, and 4-5 snails.

    Any suggestions?
