my new spectrapure pro ro/di arrived yesterday, and I hooked it up today.
When I measured the ratio, it came out to 8:1 (waste:ro).

I haven't trimmed the capillary restrictor, as I believe that will only make the waste water higher. What else do I need to do?

Right now I have it hooked up the an upstairs bathroom. Would this make a difference (would I get higher pressure from a ground level faucet)?

I was expecting alot of waste water, but 8 gallons for every 1?

Also, is the waste water ok to use for something else like watering plants or anything?

    Thanks!

Don't know about the adjustments but the waste could be used for plants or an African Cichlid tank.

I had the same problem with mine and i was told by spectrapure that i could put a ball valve on the waste line and slow it down to get the 4:1 ratio

my waste water goes across the attic and out to the garden and into a 70 gallon wooden wine barrel...then auto gravity drip system that waters my garden...vegetables and such...
It was distressing when I discovered the waste ratio !! Get'r' done..I say !! LOL

I would ask the question in their Sponsors Forum here on 3Reef. They don't always monitor all the forums but they do watch that one.
