New salt's big 3 levels

    If you've ever tested your salt while it was mixing for a water change, please post your results & what type of salt you are using

    I've currently got Tropic Marin Pro Reef

    Calc - 400
    Mag - 1400
    dkh - 4.2

    Would be interesting to see others, since it's time for me to buy new salt.

    You sure your Alk is right? I think that should be Meq/L

    I know it's crazy low right?!

    I read that the "pro-reef" is low alk b/c it's made for tanks with calcium reactors. I tested it with a salifert kit

    Needless to say I don't have a calcium reactor so I need a different kind of salt lol

    wow great idea! very interested as to what some people post up here. i use instant ocean or reef crystals but just did a water change unfortunately the other day. already dosed.

    Keep in mind that study/chart is from 2008. There are a number of new salts since then, and some of them changed their formulas.
