    lol ok. wow.

So, the local storage unit has a 30 gal plus a stand for 15$. It is fairly clean, a little bit of algea but not bad. Im not sure what all else comes with it. that and two other tanks plus tons of equipment were just left by the pevious owner. So i think thats what im gonna get. I went to walmart and bought some stuff (filter, bubbble bar, air pump, heater) and will put pictures up on my blog in a few minutes. Please give me your opinions and let me know if there is any othe equipment i need. ( i know i need lights i just dont know if the tank has some already or not)

alo, will I need a protein skimmer with a 30gal? even if I have a large bubble bar and a filte made for a 30-60gal tank??

sounds like you setting up a freshwater tank. IMO, you would be much better off with a self contained unit.

ok, no bubble bar for saltwater.
Bt do I still need the air pump?

I put pictures on my blog of the stuff I got. Its from walmart but its the same brand as Petco, which is all thats available to me.

Is there any special way I should clean the tank im getting before I put stuff in it? Or just hot water and a good scrub?

No need for a air pump. hot water and a good scrub for leak test.

    No air pump either...

Get a few powerheads though, i recommend koralia powerheads, they are pretty good.

and yeah, just give it a good scrub down i guess and fill it up for a leak test.

2 power heads will do, i have 2 Koralia 2's in my 29g and i had good flow..

I just aragalive sand, so i guess it was "live" sand and honestly, i dont know what dry sand vs live sand would do..

Just get a small grain size for the gobys burrow.
