That looks good! A serpant star MAY fit, i just dont know, i know someone who has 3 in her 100g, i honestly dont like the look of them but its your choice, not mine..I just have a strange feeling that it might be way to big for your tank. Because the ones i saw were all 6-7" in length, and thats arm to arm..So you gotte think about how much LR it will have to hide behind and stuff.

this is rediculous and irresponsible. you should be getting a 29 gallon. with that you'll be lucky if you can keep 3 fish. people recommending 5 fish in a 14 gallon is insane. I just bought a JBJ LED 28 gallon for my neighbor that we are starting up. Really nice tank. HQI could work as well. this is what you should be looking at. you could get one off of craigs list for cheaper. a 14 gallon with what you want to put in it is going to be bascially impossible. with a 28 or 29 gallon assuming you have the lighting, you can put a fair amount of coral in, clams, an anemone, my LFS has a number of anemones in a 28 gallon JBJ and they been in it at least over a year and they looik nice. Plus the tank is big enough that it can look really really nice. add about 3 fish and you are good to go.

EDIT: I see the biocubes use power compacts. those aren't going to handle everything, plus the bulbs need to be replaced so factor that in. LED's last like 10 years, so savings along the way. biocube also doesn't seem to have two returns and a programmer to vary which return is working at each time.

Biocubes however can be found real cheap on craigslist so if you short of money, thats an option, but really a 14 gallon is no way going to have the space for the stuff you are talking about.

    Not really

    2 Clowns
    1 yellow stripe clingfish
    1 pinkbar goby
    1 shrimp
The fish are easy and small, coral maybe. She might be getting a 30g.

Hey, buddy, i understand your concern on a 14g with 5 fish, i have one with 5 fish and it runs great..Nitrates stay below 10ppm and never have problems.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
The tank should be at least 30 gal to keep 5 fish of any size. A 14 gal tank may support them for a couple of months but the goal is to provide a long term environment. IMO max fish for a 14 gal is 2 and of the smaller varity weather clownfish or gobies. Water changes need to be routine in the 14 gal othewise the risk from over crowding, territory issues and disease will lead to frustration and disappointment.
