    Hi yinz guys,
    New to saltwater,had a 55 gal tank was going to do fresh as always, decided to do salt.But remodeled my house and installed it in its own room with the front like a picture frame.Havent even got to get it going yet and wrong already. tempered glass and cant drill holes. So next plan,upgrade to 75gal. marineland on craigslist,new $175.going to do herbie, with 1"drian and 11/4 overflow with weir box.down to a 45gal sump tank with vertex omega 130,refuge with live rock and alagee or mangrove.and eiheim640 gph return pump up through a 1" return line with check valve.will have drain line run horizontal and tap off for refuge. 2 questions.1) does the hole for the emergency overflow on the herbie have to be higher than the drain hole?
    2) can you use other items for display like conch shells or ?? is metal(not copper)o.k.?
    thanks :}

    Welcome to 3reef and salt side! I'm sorry I know nothing about herbies.

    You need to be very cautious when adding items to the display. Metal is definitely a no because salt will corrode it. Conch shells as long as they haven't been treated with anything probably would be ok.

    Welcome,your gonna like the 75g much better.The extra depth gives you a much nicer footprint to work with.Sorry but I know nothing about the herbie overflow.If you use the search feature on the home page you probably can find some threads on it,or you can start your own thread on the subject and I'm sure you will get some good advise.

    Welcome! I've found that most of my noob questions were answered here with only a little bit of searching. No matter what it is, somebody else has wondered the same thing before I did, lol.
