new sand in tank

    I have had my 55 gallon tank for about 3 monthes now. I just barely bought some new sand for it. I had sand for my tank but just wanted to get more. The new sand i got is white and very fine. It says marine sand. BUt when i started to put it in the tank, the sand kept floating up and catching air bubbles. Is this going to affect my tank such as nitrate, etc.

    I don't think it should affect the water chemistry, just the clarity for a while.

    Always rinse sand before adding it to a tank ;)
    I learned that the hard way myself!
