Well since I can't get the nitrates down on my 110 I decided to just start another 120 set up and see if that works.

Actually I am getting to the point of getting the basement finished(code for fish rooms just don't let the wife in on it). The original plan involved just moving the 110.... but got a call and couldn't pass up a deal on the 120.

Long and the short it is just a few hundred bucks and an 18 hour drive, Comes with everything I need, I actually helped build the sump, picked out the chiller, lamps etc.

The only thing that is missing is a skimmer and I'm up for some input in this. I have an ETS600 and it works well but I think that Tangster mentioned one called a bullet so I'm trying to get some information on that and any others you all think are worth the money. It's a few months off to be up and running (maybe years the way I plan) but might as well get the information now.

I DEFINATELY prefer Precision Marine over AE Tech

However, if it's working for you, why change?

Not changing, it is a new set up both will be running so unless you know a way to set up one skimmer on two tanks  I have to buy another one.

But I will look hard at the Precision Marine.

I run about 300 gallons through a pair of sumps using one skimmer for a total of 5 tanks. I use a mrc300 skimmer to skim all of them. After getting used to the skimmers adjustments it seems to do a very good job for me.

Reefnut, what is the mrc300 or who makes it? Want to take a look at it.

Reef, you still out there? I'd like to find more info on this skimmer and can't find anything with the lettters and numbers you gave me.

    Anyone else have any suggestions?

It is sold through My Reef Creations. Welcome to MRC! - My Reef Creations They sell several different models. The 300 with the dual Beckett injectors is what I have. It puts out a lot of foam wet skimming or dryer. It took me awhile to get mine dialed in where I can leave it alone but now that I know what I am doing with it, I just have to keep it clean. If you buy one make sure you make the flow adjustable going in as well as going out. They will answer any questions you might have by email. I asked them numerous questions about which one I should get and how best to set it up. They are really good people.

I bought mine used off the selling forum on Reef Centrals web site. He took a 3rd off of his asking price. You might check there and see if anyone is selling one.

The blue models are the recirculating ones (2 pumps required) the black ones are the more common skimmers (1 pump required)

Another question comes to mind in looking at both options.

Why are most of the bigger/better ones run of inline pumps vs. drop ins?
