Well after a slight disaster which wiped our tank (sparing our yellow tang, yellow damsel and various corals). We are considering replacing our current tank (4 by 3 by 2) with a (6 by 2 by 2). Mainly because with the kitchen being renovated and a new table coming. Its no longer viable to have a 3 deep tank.

My plan is to do a 25 - 50% water change and move what i can into a spare 4 and 2 footer as well as buckets. Put the new tank in move all 'stuff' back in. Hopefully within 2-3 hours.

Now I'm guess I'm asking is my plan ok or am i missing something obvious?
Secondly I've never personally 'moved' tanks like this so any hints/advice is much welcomed.

Also I'd appreciate Feedback on my stocking List.

I moved up twice this year and I can tell you the biggest problem I incurred was the sand clouding up the tank so when I moved the second time from a 120 to a 210 I put eggcrate on the bottom of the tank to protect the glass and I added all the rock and set up the aquascape then I added live oolite with a coffee cup slowly down to the bottom and then I pushed the sand under the rocks with my fingers. It was so much easier this way and quicker.:)
